A Place to Work. A Place to Show. A Place to Grow.
Your creative foothold in the “City of Eternal Spring” – 1.5 hours from Mexico City, part of TBQA’s low‑residency network.
This is not a live-in residency.
Artists are responsible for booking their own accommodations nearby—Airbnb-style housing is affordable, walkable, can include a pool, and we’re happy to assist in locating the right space.
What we offer is a focused, low-residency experience for one artist at a time—a boutique model that provides private studio access and one-on-one engagement with TBQA’s Director and Curator. Whether you're preparing a body of work, hosting an open studio, or planning an exhibition, this is your space to develop and be seen—with real support behind you.
Queer. Allied. Global. Rooted.
InResidency is designed for working artists, artists with complex schedules, and those who need flexibility without sacrificing outcomes.
This is more than a residency. It’s a creative ecosystem where queer and allied artists build sustainable practices, receive curatorial support, and amplify their voices across borders. And in Cuernavaca, it all begins with space—space to work, reflect, and show on your own terms.
Low-Residency Artist Studio in Cuernavaca, Mexico
Affordable, flexible workspace for queer and allied artists—just 1.5 hours from Mexico City. Join The Bureau of Queer Art’s low-residency program and access private studio space, curatorial mentorship, and exhibition opportunities in a vibrant cultural hub.
Note on Images:
The images shown here are from our 2024 Cuernavaca residency space, which was unfortunately destroyed during the rainy season. We’ve since relocated to a more walkable neighborhood, and the move has allowed us to lower our prices as part of our commitment to a more inclusive low-residency model. The dogs are real and will be here excited to greet you and resting at your feet if you desire.
New photos will be uploaded soon, but in the meantime, we offer virtual tours during the interview process to help ensure the space supports your goals and practice.
