Are you an artist seeking a supportive community and exhibition opportunities? Our residency program is here to elevate your artistic journey and prepare you for international exhibition opportunities.

Create: You are making time and space away from the distractions of daily life to create in the environment of Jardines de Tlatlanango. We are literally at the end of the road and not even visible on Google Maps view. However, that doesn’t mean you don’t have all the conveniences to make your daily life easy.

Why Cuernavaca? We realized that the costs outweighed the benefits when we were in the city's center. We provide a safe, clean, and accessible city with a climate of eternal spring. There is a calmness here that will wrap you in comfort and allow you to focus on your work while enjoying the culture of Mexico. Cuernavaca is a cultural hub - a pueblo magico that will enter your imagination with its museum, cultural centers, and la comida! However, many potential day trips offer a more diverse experience of the true history of Mexico. It’s a feast for the eyes, stomach, and artistic soul. You can see some of the offerings Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor.

You Are Home: You are at home when you are an artist in residency. We do everything we can to make you feel comfortable. You have a private bathroom and bedroom, access to a fantastic kitchen that opens to the garden patio, your studio space that can be customized to your needs, and you are within walking distance of many things.

Studio Visits: Connect with peers and curators, share your progress, and receive valuable feedback. You decide how much interaction or non-interaction you need to be successful. We are here to support your studio with activity and/or silence. What would you say works best for you?

Technical & Conceptual Support: Overcome challenges and refine your art. We will work with you to provide support for your materials, processes, and thinking at the level of interaction you may need. We have connections to many different people with skill sets that will help you through your work to completion. (Please remember that additional costs may be, as is customary when activating a carpenter or other skilled labor. However, the costs of these services in Mexico are a fraction of what you might pay in the USA.)

Social Connections: Build relationships with fellow artists and immerse yourself in studio culture.

Exhibition Opportunities: Work towards showcasing your art at prestigious galleries like Artsy, Art Gallery Studios, Art Fairs in CDMX, and partner galleries in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Austin.

Exhibition Focus: Over 80% of our residency participants have exhibited with Art Gallery Studios. Our residency program is exhibition-driven, preparing you for group or solo exhibitions.

Curator Guidance: Could you get expert feedback on your exhibition projects? You can work towards honoring goals set by your studio and advance your visibility. You will be offered one-on-one time with the curator to deepen your progress.

    Dia de los Muertos

While our program and the resulting exhibition are inspired by the themes intrinsic to Dia de los Muertos, we encourage our artists to explore these concepts in ways that are original and distinct from the festival itself. This approach allows for a creative exploration that respects and honors the traditional aspects of the festival, yet provides a unique perspective, enhancing the depth and breadth of the artistic dialogue initiated by this cultural event.
